Learning and Teaching Strategies Life-wide Learning:
1. Break down the limitations of subject boundaries and textbooks, and reorganize the knowledge and abilities developed in each subject. Cross-curricular learning activities are key features of the curriculum.
2. Broaden students' learning experiences, for instance in employment and entrepreneurship, survival and adventure activities, as well as cooperation with, and participation in community service, so as to enable students to participate fully in the community and to put their knowledge into practice.
3. Physical Education is emphasized in order to build up students' healthy mind and body as well as develop their perseverance and team spirit. Students may participate in uniform group activities to receive physical and discipline training, and hence develop the spirit of teamwork whereby students learn to be earnest, responsible and let go of personal interest for team achievement.
Under the framework of the EMB, the curriculum is designed to meet the developmental needs of the students and the school, as well as the demand from the society. The development of reading interest and ability are placed as the core of the English and Chinese syllabus, such that students can understand all sorts of different reading strategies, and learn how to learn, as well as enjoy learning.
School-based curriculum 1. Electives: 2X and 3X. http://www.puikiu.edu.hk/subjectclasslist.aspx?clid=161&lan=2
2. Curriculum highlights: Curriculum adaption, Development of Generic Skills, Other Learning Experience etc.
Approach to Catering for Learner Diversity We take care over the healthy development of each student, through the provision of small-class teaching, dedicated tutoring, after-school self-study, professional consultations and bridging programs, such that each students' development can be sufficiently cared for, in order for their knowledge structure and values to be developed gradually. Each student will be assigned a teacher who will act as a tutor throughout his/her learning process, and who would help overcome difficulties in the student's development, develop his/her talents and act as a guide and companion to his/her growth.
Approach to Integrated Education Our school is committed to developing an inclusive culture through the “Whole School Approach (WSA)” to support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN). Learning Support Grant and school-based resources are deployed to provide appropriate and diversified support to students with SEN so as to enhance their learning efficiency and assist them in adapting to school life. "Student Support Team" is also established to support students with SEN through cross-departmental collaboration. In response to the different learning needs of students, our school organizes diversified training groups designed by professional tutors. We provide assessment accommodation for students with SEN based on the recommendations stated in the reports from psychologists. Besides, the “Caring Ambassador” Programme is established and different activities are organized to promote the inclusive culture. Our school treasure home-school cooperation. Regular communication mechanism is put in place and close contact with parents is maintained through different channels.

School Development Plan 1. To ensure that the 'Student-centred' approach to be brought out successfully. The selection of teaching materials, learning activities and assessment processes are all implemented based on the need and development of students. Students' personal growth, developmental stage, personality and interest have been concerned considerably. Plus, their learning motivation and potential are reasonably developed. All subjects are approaching the same direction and principle steadily.
2. To ensure that the 'positive-disciplined approach' to be brought out as the basic principle and direction of the school. Emphasis is being put on student's strength. Through different learning approaches, students can have their mind developed effectively. Students are enlightened to their own potentials and encouraged to further development by themselves. By understanding the importance of moral reflection and virtues that affect one's behavior, students are encouraged to have positive spontaneous adjustments, to master themselves, and to grow healthily.
