Home-School Co-operation To let students grow up happily and healthy, the school actively promotes cooperation and enhances sharing among parents and teachers. Parents always discuss issues with school, promote welfare to students and find ways to enhance the quality of teaching so as to enable students to have a balanced development in all the aspects of moral, intellectual, physical, social, aesthetic and spiritual education. Parent representatives help supervise school books, school uniforms, school bus service and the quality of our canteen services are elected to our IMC. Facing a rapidly changing society and constantly reforming education system, home-school cooperation is important for the growth of our students. The PTA actively promotes parent education and has organised a series of parent education activities, inviting expert speakers and social organisations to give lectures and workshops to exchange experiences in nurturing children and the number of participants has increased year after year. The association also actively promotes networking activities, such as picnics, interest groups, basin feasts, Chinese New Year reunions and moon chasing barbecue evenings to ensure a strong bond among parents, shares experiences and to help students grow up healthily. Besides serving the community, the PTA members also actively help with our school activities such as on Sports Day and Parents' Day.
School Ethos To live up to the motto from Father Vincent Lebbe: “Total Renunciation, True Charity, Constant Joy", our teachers bear in mind one utmost important spirit– to serve everyone with no discrimination and care for students’ needs. We care not only about discipline but also counselling on a whole school approach basis. Our final goal is to ensure our graduates are decently-dressed, self-disciplined and knowledgeable. Our students are heaped with praise and diversified growth activities are conducted to ensure our students can have a normal school life under the stress of pandemic. With "Life" being the theme for this school year, different seminars and growth activities will be launched to cultivate our students a righteous attitude towards life. The annual “Outstanding Student Award”, “Academic Award”, "Talent and Artistic Award”, and “Voluntary Service Award” show our recognition of our students’ hard work. The “One-service-a-lifetime Scheme”, the “One Sports & Arts in life Scheme” and our students’ participation in the Student Union, Four Houses and Prefect Team further develop their talents and potential.
School Development Plan With the optimising measures for the four senior secondary core subjects, adaptation of the teaching content and strategies to cater for learner diversity, foundation of our students is further consolidated so as to enhance their academic performance. With the elite training scheme, the academically stronger students in different forms are further reinforced. At the same time, the school uses IT to improve learning and teaching, implement e-learning and develop STEAM education. This helps cultivate students' self-directed learning and enhance their learning skills. A reading scheme has been launched in a bid to boost the language ability of students. Besides, a variety of learning experiences are provided to widen the horizons of the junior formers to set their goals. For the senior formers, guidance is provided to equip them for their future challenges. Every year, different types of values are highlighted, “Family” is this year’s theme. All these help to shape our students’ positive personalities and through the involvement of service-learning, uniform groups and the Hong Kong Award for Young People, students develop their talents and strengthen their leadership training. The ultimate goal is to raise students’ confidence and develop a positive self-image.
Teacher Professional Training and Development Sustainable development in teachers’ professionalism helps upgrade the effectiveness in teaching. Besides Teachers’ Development Day, professional development seminars and lectures by experts held in the school, teachers actively attend courses on Catering for Diverse Learning Needs and workshops by educational psychologists. Our school also actively liaises with off-campus providers and organizes activities of different themes, such as participating in the Crisis Management Workshop organised by the TKO Police Community Relations Office. With the “Mentoring Scheme”, new teachers are taken care of in order to help them adapt to the new environment.
Life-wide Learning Implementation of a 3 "Mores" strategy --More Experience, More Challenges and More Happiness, together with a self-directed learning attitude, self-discipline and self-confidence in the learning environment so as to cultivate positive values and a sense of perseverance among our students. During the extension time, a total of about 40 extra-curricular activities take place. Some aspects are stressed in our school.
