Language Policy |
The School strives to improve student's English proficiency, by appointing foreign teachers on enhancement of English speaking ability of junior high school students. There are enrichment programs, provided for student according to their level of language. As reading habit is significantly related to language abilities, the school arrange a number of activities to create reading environments.<br>In the classes of students having higher learning abilities in English, selected topics from Mathematics and Science subjects are conducted in English (not more than 25% of total lesson time).In normal classes, we dedicate up to 10% of total lesson time to extended learning activities in English (revision of some topics using English).Assessments and assignments are designed involving English elements. Members of task force are responsible to discuss and suggest opinions regularly to evaluate the performance of the policy and propose modification and improvement whenever necessary. |
Learning and Teaching Strategies |
Focusing on the needs of students, establishing clear learning goals, objectives and priorities, by interactive teaching methods, effective teaching strategies, and inspire student's potential by providing feedback to students through assessments. Enhance students' ability in English and Mathematics with after-school supplement course (Junior and Senior). The school provides M1 Mathematics Extended Part curriculum, with appropriate assessments and electronic materials. The school also focus on broaden students' cognitive level, implementation of interdisciplinary projects. With reading promotion plan, develop strategies, implementation and evaluation to create a reading atmosphere. Design STEM Project learning portfolio in curriculum, to raise students' potential in self-directed learning and learning effectiveness. |

Approach to Catering for Learner Diversity |

The school also provides remedial classes and after school tutorial classes. |
Approach to Integrated Education |
Our School Learning Support Team consists of SEN coordinator, SEN support teacher, educational psychologist, teachers, school social workers and teaching assistants. Schools will use "Learning Support Grant" & "Grant for Supporting Non-Chinese Speaking Students with Special Educational Needs". We have adopted the whole school approach. Teachers, parents and students are well supported in the hope of developing a respectful and cooperative school environment. Students with any special educational needs, such as learning difficulties, emotional problems and physical disabilities, will be provided with guidance and learning support. This includes helping students to adapt to new school environment and curriculum, special arrangement for curriculum, school assessments and giving peer support. To support "Parent as Partner", parents of SEN students are invited to set the learning goals with the teachers. With a view to raise the awareness of life planning for those SEN students, different programmes are organized to help them discover their interest and develop their career path. Our peer counselling scheme allows students to understand different emotions and the problems related to emotional changes. |

Home-School Co-operation |
The school have established a home-School Co-operation, main objectives are to promote and encourage home-school co-operation, strengthen the association between families and the school, publicize innovative workshops, seminars and conference for parents, develop publicity materials, gaining positive attitude towards the co-operation, and more importantly to enhance student and parent's education. |

1. School develop Discipline Team, Counselling Team and Student Support Team. Through incentive schemes, the school encourage students to perform in high academic achievers and decent disciplinary, and together creating the positive school spirit. <br>2. In order to establish student's autonomy, the school insist on each student should participates in one role. These roles are responsible on classroom management, assisting class teachers and subject teachers, daily communications, class services etc.<br>3. Teacher Professional Training and Development |
1. Co-ordinate and assist new recruited substitute and intern teachers to adapt school's teaching and learning environment. Seminars, sharing sessions and co-planning sessions are organized to assist them in module/lesson planning, questioning techniques and classroom management skills. <br>2. Professional teacher development programs are provided to all teachers to encourage collaborative teaching and peer observation in school. Channels are provided for colleagues to share and exchange their teaching experience in order to enhance their teaching effectiveness.<br>3. Promotes professionalism through staff professional development activities, including three teacher professional training day per year.<br> |
Life-wide Learning |
In addition, the school have established a total of more than 50 activity groups accordingly to students 'different interests'.
