Language Policy |
With emphasizing the importance of English in learning and the significance of mother-tongue teaching, we follow the objective of enhancing students' proficiency both in English and Chinese Language. Small-class teaching and curriculum tailoring are implemented to improve students' English. The school taps into various external resources, to build and renovate the English Room, introduce situational language learning and teaching, and cooperate with international schools, to help students learn English. |

School-based curriculum |
1. Electives: 2X. In the Senior Secondary Curriculum, the school offers 11 elective subjects. Two senior secondary electives are selected by students themselves according to their interests and abilities. Students are required to take one subject of Applied Learning.<br> 2. We also promote cross-curricular learning and teaching projects in order to help students organize learning points in different subjects. |
Approach to Catering for Learner Diversity |
Gifted students are spotted at an early stage so that students are able to receive an independent gifted curriculum in accordance with their personality, interests and learning needs. Gifted students are recommended to participate in courses offered by different organizations. The school has also been arranging those, who are gifted, to participate in activities organized by local universities, professional companies and non-government organizations, aiming at helping gifted students to learn from another perspective and helping them discover their talents, such as leadership, creativity, social skills and humanity development. |
Approach to Integrated Education |
The core members of the Learning Support Group include Principal, Vice Principal, SENCo, SEN Support Teacher, counsellor, subject teachers and Educational Psychologist. Our school uses the Learning Support Grant to outsource services in providing appropriate support to students. Services include individual or group Chinese writing trainings for students with speech and language disorder, interest groups and service team for unleashing students’ potentials, and social skills trainings for students with autism. The school provides appropriate exam adjustments, such as independent test venues, added exam time, use of screen-reading or voice-to-text software, etc. The school also provides class-based or group inclusive activities to promote inclusive culture accordingly. In addition, there are support measures such as after-school support classes, career and life planning activities. The school works closely with the school-based Educational Psychologist, to regularly assess the S.1 students with special needs. Individual learning plans for students with more serious needs will also be developed, with relevant personnel to meet on regular basis to review the programme effectiveness. Parents Night is organized to introduce to S.1 students’ parents the school’s support measures, and to provide a communication platform to promote home-school cooperation. |

Home-School Co-operation |
We provide different channels for parents to meet our teachers to improve communication. Various activities such as workshops, talks and family activities etc are held in school.<br>To enhance parent-teacher cooperation and show the school’s concern upon students, a home visit will be arranged for S.1 and individual students. Through visits, the school is able to recognise the need of each student and family and offer suitable assistance.<br>To facilitate parents and schools’ cooperation, class teachers contact parents regularly through phone calls. |

Life-wide Learning |
We are currently having many interest groups and clubs to help students develop their multi-intelligence in different areas.<br>Our school has also organized various community services which aim at raising students’ awareness on caring upon the society and nurturing them a positive value and spirit of service. We have been collaborating with different service providers and organizing activities, such as community visits, elderly caring, projects on raising awareness of poverty, voluntary teaching programme in China. We also recommend students to take part in training sessions and educational activities organized by UNICEF HK.<br>The establishment of Sea Cadets, Girl Guides and Flag-guards in our school is to develop students’ responsibility and confidence through a variety of training on team building. |
