Language Policy Under the ‘Fine-tuning MOI Policy’, our school formulates the whole school language policy in accordance with the school’s actual situation. Our school thus formulates the policy with due consideration of the following bases:<br>The expectation of parents; The learning needs of students; The language proficiency, standard, performance and interest of our students; Supportive measures provided by our school. <br>To enhance our students to be better biliterate and trilingual users of English, Putonghua and Cantonese:<br>After-school supplementary classes are conducted at different levels to enhance students’ learning effectiveness; To promote reading atmosphere by encouraging students to read more English and Chinese books during the morning reading session; In order to enhance students’ interests in Classical Chinese, the Chinese Department conducts learning activity such as Recital Contest on Tang and Song Poetry;<br>To create a English-speaking context: <br>English Corner and English Café activities conducted by NET teacher to promote student’s speaking and listening skills. In order to arouse student’s interest through various activities and performances, our students are encouraged to participate in English Musical performances.
Learning and Teaching Strategies Our school provides a diversified curriculum catering students with different ability and aspirations. Apart from our regular curriculum, our school also provide different Applied Learning Courses, widening our students' future academic and career path. Students are divided into small learning groups based on their learning needs in core subjects such as Chinese, English and Mathematics, in order to serve both remedial and enhancement purposes. Our school also seeks external professional support in offering professional training to our teachers, equipping teachers' teaching techniques and skills for the Senior Secondary Curriculum. Collaborative, Peer Lesson Planning and a Gradual development of quality homework are some of the key concerns for such enhancement of teaching development.
School-based curriculum 1. Electives: 2X. Our school provides 10 Electives and Applied Learning Course for Senior Secondary students.<br> 2. Curriculum highlights: To smoothen the students' transition into the Senior Secondary Curriculum, the school is offering Life & Society, Chinese History and Fashion Design Subjects in the junior secondary forms, so the students can quickly adapt to Senior Secondary Curriculum.
Approach to Catering for Learner Diversity Our school is well equipped and experienced in serving students with Special Education Needs (SENS), and a team (SENS Team) is formulated with teachers, social workers and Educational Psychologist. By allocating resources, our school employs extra assistants and teachers in order to spare professionals for enhancing SENS supports and catering difference learning needs. Moreover, our school employs two registered social workers, offering counselling and support services to students and parents. Our school also set up a SENS Support Center, which provides a comfortable learning environment for SEN Student. From this year onward, Dr. LUK Sau Ha, Department of Educational Psychology of CUHK, will act as a school consultant to provide more appropriate trainings to students with dyslexia.
Approach to Integrated Education Our school is experienced with taking care of SEN students. The Learning Support Team comprises SENCO, SEN Teachers, Teaching Assistants, Social Workers and Educational Psychologist. The ‘Learning Support Centre’ is established to providing a comfortable learning environment for SEN students.<br>A “whole-school approach” is adopted to support students with special education needs. In order to provide students with appropriate support, LSG is used for outsourcing speech therapy, occupational therapy. Moreover, reading and writing training for SEN students, social skills training for students with autism, concentration skills for ADHD students.<br>Information on SEN students will regularly be released to all teaching staff. Teachers review teaching progress and adapt curriculum through collaborative lesson planning. Special arrangements have been made, such as extended examination time, special examination venue & screen reader.<br>
Education Support for Non-Chinese Speaking (NCS) Students
Home-School Co-operation "Voluntary" is the key point of the school's Home School corporation strategies. Parents help in organizing events and leading students to external competition. From 2019 onward, 'Home School Co-operate to Nurture the Virtues' Scheme will be implemented. In this scheme, the Principal, teachers, parents & students will plan the student's learning progress in order to attain 'training, cultivating & creating the best'.
School Ethos Our school adopts a Whole School Approach in building a rigorous yet caring school ethos with students being praised as compliance young adults. There are two class teachers in almost all secondary classes which can offer a more comprehensive care. Class management is practiced in building a loving and caring class ethos. Class teachers hold form meeting regularly in order to keep track of class development. S.1 Students are required to stay at school for lunch, both S.1 & S.2 students need to attend regular three After-School Extensive Learning sessions weekly. Some are selected for Enhancement class as well. Our school particularly focuses on discipline. All S1 students have to undergo Boy Scout training. The school also promotes Catholic values and Caring through assembly, Ethics lessons and Class Teacher Period; by this the school has been named as Caring School for eight years.

Teacher Professional Training and Development Teachers are required to complete appraisal yearly. Successful pedagogues are promoted through collaborative lesson planning, peer lesson observation and extensive discussion.
Life-wide Learning Our school offers around 40 kinds of Co-Curricular activities which cover academic, services, sports, arts and hobbies area. These interest groups are mostly led by teachers, where some of them are led by external professionals. This year, Cycling team, Boy Scout training & Chinese Dance group will also be set up. Our school also trains student leaders systematically by regular training session and camps and practicing through organizing school events. Our school organises Cross Boundaries study tour, Life-wide Learning, and Social Service Day for school members to interact and explore with the world. Strength-based Approach has been introduced so as to cultivate the best, fostering students to perform outstandingly & to receive awards in various domains.
