Language Policy With the aim of strengthening students’ language foundation and knowledge, our School adopts a ‘Whole-school Language Policy’. To enrich students’ vocabulary bank, the Chinese Language Department puts forward reading schemes. Besides, the English Department has also implemented ‘Practical English for Daily Living’ Scheme to strengthen students’ spoken English. On top of that, Schemes of Cross-Curriculum Reading and Theme-based Reading are also put into practice to cultivate students' interest in reading.
Learning and Teaching Strategies Active learning: 1. Theme-based learning, project-based learning and e-learning are adopted to facilitate cooperative learning and self-directed learning of students. 2. To align with the School’s Creative and Performing Arts Program, elements of creative and performing arts are integrated into Chinese, English, Visual Arts and Music in junior forms to arouse students' interests in language learning. In senior forms, Creative and Performing Arts is introduced as an independent subject which provide systematic and organized training of creative arts in a professional fashion. 3. To raise students’ interests and motivation in learning, small-group teaching, STEM activities, after-school supplementary classes, film shows, internal and external competitions and seminars are organized.

On top of maintaining the academic standard of our students, multidisciplinary and professional courses, including 'Tung Chi Ying Football Programme' and 'Creative and Performing Arts Programme', are organized to cater for their diversified talents and educational needs. By educating in accordance with students' individual needs, students are given ample capacity to develop their potentials and excel in their extraordinary talents.
Approach to Catering for Learner Diversity Our School is determined to foster the culture of integration and various support services (social groups, Career Planning group, Learning Motivation Training Group, Confidence Enhancement Group, execution training group and STEM Coding Group) are organized to cater for the diverse educational needs of students. Also, a school-based educational psychologist and a school-based speech therapist will update psychological reports of these students and provide timely advice and support for them.
Approach to Integrated Education Our School supports students with students with special educational needs and weak performance: <br>1. A student support team led by the Vice Principal cooperates with the Assistant Principal, the School Guidance Coordinator, the SENCO, the Education Psychologist, the speech therapist and the SEN Learning Support Counselors to assist teachers in taking care of the individual differences among students. <br>2. Joining 'Enhancing School-based Speech Therapy Service' to provide related therapy or training according to the needs of the students. <br>3. Organizing integration activities to promote inclusive culture.<br>4. Provide practical training to the teachers for supporting students' mental problems. <br>5. Purchasing ' Career Planning Service' to help students know oneself and participate in Job Tasting Programmes. <br>6. Organizing outdoor training activities to encourage students' participation in school events for building supportive relationships between students and creating a harmonious and caring school culture. <br>7. Implementing 'Personal Growth Guidance Scheme' for teachers to meet students regularly and to set goals and practical ways for developing one's career plan. Teachers will also support their needs on personal development.
Education Support for Non-Chinese Speaking (NCS) Students
Home-School Co-operation Our school places a heavy emphasis on parent-school collaboration through different means such as school notices, newsletters, school's website, seminars, parent-teacher meetings and Parents Days with the aim of ensuring that parents are crystal clear about the school's policies, latest development and visions. This year, Our School will continue to utilize the 'School App' system to further strengthen ties and communication between parents and the school.
School Ethos We emphasize the importance of moral and ethical education and advocate the belief - 'To discipline with love, To pursue value addedness'. Character education is fostered through various activities, such as Light of Dawn Remedial Scheme, Volunteer Activities, Adventure-based Counseling and Leadership Training. It is our goal to help students develop good ethics and discipline, as well as the ability to face and overcome adversities positively.<br>In order to strengthen the care for students, the system of two class teachers and a form coordinator in each form is adopted for S.1 to S.6. Classroom Management is also adopted in each class to improve the discipline and moral standard of our students. Together with regular communication with parents, cooperation between parents and the school is promoted and students' growth and development are benefited.
School Development Plan Our School advocates ‘Ternary Education’, which places equal emphasis on ‘Academics – Creativity – Youth Training’.<br>Academics: The ‘Through Train To the University’ Programme aims to extend opportunities for our graduates to university admissions through collaboration with universities and tertiary institutions in Hong Kong, Taiwan and overseas, through ‘priority entrance interviews’ and ‘conditional university offers’.<br>Creativity:<br>Having established the "Film and Television Production Training Center", the School has put forward a formal curriculum on "Creative Art". In junior levels, film subjects and creative arts workshops are introduced to enhance students’ understanding of film production. In senior levels, students are provided with professional film production trainings. By producing full-length films and actively participating in competitions, students can apply what they have learned, thus improving their chances of entering universities and joining the creative industry.<br>Youth Training:<br>Being the only school collaborating with the Hong Kong Football Association, our school has launched the "Tung Chi Ying Football Project" which integrates professional and systematic football training into the formal curriculum of secondary schools. The Project started in September 2023 and the cooperation will last for 10 years. It aims to provide high-quality formal academic training for young people who are interested in football, and to train outstanding elite athletes with both academic and football skills for Hong Kong and the Chinese football industry. In addition to learning football-related knowledge and skills, students can also broaden their education pathways and employment opportunities.
Teacher Professional Training and Development This year, the goal of our school's Professional Development Days is 'to cultivate oneself, put family in order and teach students with excellence'. Our teachers are expected to develop "T-standard+" and training related to education policies and the development of our country. To cope with the ever-changing societal and educational needs, teachers are encouraged to improve their professionalism through continuous learning and attending seminars and workshops organized by the EDB, local universities and educational organizations. Internally, peer lesson observations and collaboration schemes are implemented to enable teachers to share teaching methodologies and ideas for better teaching effectiveness. On top of performance-appraising lesson observations, developmental lesson observations are conducted to promote the culture of peer learning. With emphasis on professional development, we offer training, mentorship programs and orientation workshops for new teachers to understand the vision of our school and the features of 'Ternary Education'.
Life-wide Learning An array of diverse learning-oriented and regular extra-curricular activities, such as leather goods manufacturing class, cookery class and indoor shooting course are organized to enrich students' ‘Life- wide learning for the Five Essential Learning Experiences' in Moral and Civic Education, Community Service, Career-related Experiences, Aesthetic Development and Physical Development. In addition, teacher-student party, STEM education activities, vocational visits, volunteer team, training camps and outward bound activities are organized to extend students' potentials and abilities. This year, our school introduces two projects, namely 'Tung Chi Ying Football Programme' and 'Creative and Performing Arts Programme’ to further stretch students' potentials and interests.
