Language Policy |
1. Our school has adopted Small Class Teaching (SCT) in Junior Secondary cohorts. Chinese is used as the main medium of instruction in all subjects, except for the subject English Language.<br>2. We also aim to promote English-oriented activities on a wider scale by creating a simulated learning environment, which stimulates English learning and gives students opportunities to put their acquired knowledge to use.<br>3. Develop English enhancement courses. |
Learning and Teaching Strategies |
1 Improve students' self-learning ability: Each subject formulates self-study strategies for students at all level. We make good use of the early reading time and provide reading materials through various subjects to cultivate students' reading habits and strengthen students' self-study skills.<br>2. To take care of learning diversity so that students with different abilities can learn appropriately and effectively. The "Top Plan" and "Achievement Plan" is implemented. Challenging questions in coursework are arranged for students to answer actively and earnestly.<br>3 To increase opportunities for students to use information technology to learn and improve students' information literacy . Each subject provides online learning resources to enhance the level of learning and strengthen students' media and information literacy skills.<br>4. Through interdisciplinary activities and project studies, students will be able to practice what they have learnt in class and enrich their extracurricular knowledge. |

It also functions to strengthen their underpinnings in preparation for the subject of Citizenship & Social Development in their Senior Secondary school years.<br>b. Diversified Learning Programmes (DLP) are introduced to all students to help them gain sufficient and well-balanced experience as well as exposure in a broad range of areas, including moral and civic education, social service, vocation, sports, and aesthetics, so as to grant them the opportunities to develop their potentials.<br>c. Other Learning Experiences (OLE) are introduced into the Senior Secondary curriculum. OLE offers certified courses to better equip students with extra-curricular recognition and add value to their talent. <br>d. Implement various courses of National Security Education. |
Approach to Catering for Learner Diversity |
School-based curriculum and diversified teaching activities have been adopted to cater for individual needs of students. Small-class teaching is arranged for S.1-S.3 English and Chinese classes to take care of learner diversity. After-school tutorial classes are conducted to cater for individual needs. |
Approach to Integrated Education |
The Student Support consists of the Vice Principals, SENCO, SEN teachers from the Discipline Team and Guidance Team, school social worker, teachers from Chinese Department and English Department, School Educational Psychologists and school-based speech therapist.<br>To provide a comprehensive support for students with SEN, our support includes student learning, student growth, home-school communication and teacher training.<br>Regarding student learning, our school forms a Collaborative Teaching Group to implement the "School-based Collaborative Teaching Support for Students with Special Education Needs Pilot Scheme" through lesson study to implement a series of teaching strategies to support students with SEN to learn effectively.<br>Regarding student growth, our school provides career-oriented planning courses for students of different grades. The training content is based on the secondary school curriculum and incorporates elements of personal interests, life experience and career-oriented development.<br>In terms of home-school communication, our school provides a platform between parents, the school Educational Psychologist and the SENCO on Parents' Day to comprehend the Special arrangements for SEN's candidates. Student case follow-up and learning outcomes are also discussed. In terms of teacher training our educational psychologist stationed at the campus is invited to provide teacher training, and to share policies and support programs for SEN students inside and outside school. <br>In addition, teachers of special education schools are invited to share curriculum planning and teaching strategies for taking care of student diversity. |

Parents' Day is held in the first and second term. The form teacher contacts parents regularly to provide students with academic and growth support.<br>Family associations hold regular meetings and activities, such as workshops, lectures, parent-child bonding trips and others, to strengthen mutual communication and cooperation. |

With the unity of the Discipline and Counselling Teams, we adopt strict policies to ensure that school rules are abided by students to guide their growth. Meanwhile, we emphasize the development of students' self-discipline and self-esteem. Two class teachers are assigned to every class of the junior class to strengthen connection and communication among teachers and parents. Teacher Professional Training and Development |
Conduct induction guidance for new teachers and implement the Mentor Program. Every year, workshops, seminars or networking events are organized for teachers. Life-wide Learning |
Our school actively promotes all-rounded learning and organizes diverse learning interest groups to explore students' interests and inspire students' potential.<br><br>The school fully supports students to participate in external competitions. Students have won many awards in music, sports, and arts, and have outstanding performance in scientific research competitions. In addition to achieving good results in local inter-school competitions, they have represented Hong Kong in large-scale international competitions in the United States for many years.<br><br>Our school organizes multiple study tour groups every year. Over the years, students have travelled to Europe, America, Japan, South Korea, Southeast Asia and China. These study tour groups provide experiences for historical and cultural experiences, environmental conservation and technological development exploration, English learning, volunteer services and many more. Students can get out of the classroom and engage in experiential activities to enrich their learning experience and broaden their horizons.<br><br>Our school holds school-wide activities every year such as Sports Day, Cross-country Races, Ball game Day, Music Day, and House competitions. Theme-based weeks such as English Week, Chinese Culture Week, Reading Week, STEAM Week, and Humanities Week are also organized.<br><br>The school has more than 50 extra-curricular activities such as the Track and Field Team, Cross-country Team, Hip-hop Team, English Ambassador, Taekwondo, Healthy eating class, Organic farming, etc. Chess, ball games, student performances, and music activities are arranged at noon and after school.
