Language Policy Our school makes great effort to promote bi-literacy and tri-lingualism. We emphasise English learning and aim to enhance students’ English language proficiency. Medium of instruction is chosen according to students’ learning ability in English. Mathematics and Integrated Science are taught in English in junior forms. Extensive reading schemes and e-learning platforms are implemented to promote self-directed learning and enhance students' language competency. The English Department organises a variety of life-wide learning activities to boost students' English proficiency. They include morning assembly speeches, Reading Aloud Programme, English Thursdays, Starfish publications, English activities held during Overseas Exchange Tours, Speech Festival, etc.
Learning and Teaching Strategies Our school adopts student-oriented, diversified learning and teaching strategies according to students' characteristics and abilities to cater for the diversity of students' learning. We are committed to promoting Information Technology education through e-learning platforms to strengthen teacher-student and student-student interaction, and cultivate students' initiative of learning. We promote self-directed learning, cultivate students' learning routines and habits, and enhance the effectiveness of learning and teaching. We are also actively promoting STEAM education, with STEAM lessons at junior secondary levels and organise cross-curricular STEAM activities, so as to enhance students' creativity, problem-solving skills and collaboration skills.
School-based curriculum 1. Electives: 2X and 3X. We offer 14 elective subjects and Mathematics extended modules for students to choose from. They can choose to study 2-3 elective subjects according to their interests and abilities.<br> 2. Curriculum highlights: (a) The core values of Catholic education are incorporated into all subjects to strengthen values education. (b) Through a variety of teaching methodologies, curriculum adjustments and tiered assignments, students' learning diversity can be better catered for. (c) STEAM lessons at junior secondary levels help inspire students' STEAM potential.
Approach to Catering for Learner Diversity Our school is a caring school. To cater for the needs of different students, our school organises various student support programmes every year such as individual and small-group peer counselling schemes. We adopt small class teaching for Chinese, English and Mathematics. We also encourage students to join various intramural and extramural activities about life experience. We hope students of different abilities can be properly taken care of. Besides, we can help to develop their potential and boost their self-confidence so that positive values and perspective of life can be further fostered and enhanced.
Approach to Integrated Education Our school is committed to building an inclusive and caring culture and promoting integrated education in a whole-school approach. The Student Support Team (SST) consists of the Vice-principal, Special Education Needs Coordinator (SENCo), Counselling Mistress, Discipline Mistress, Integrated Education Support teachers, Educational Psychologist and Social Worker to provide ample and appropriate support to students with special educational needs.<br>We adopt a variety of training programmes and group activities, and provide individual counselling for students in need. We also use the “Learning Support Allowance” to outsource professional services such as speech therapy services, occupational therapy services and so on.<br>We regularly distribute up-to-date information about integrated education to all teachers, share relevant ideas and teaching suggestions, strengthen teachers' understanding of integrated education, and encourage staff to participate in the Education Bureau's training courses to enhance professional knowledge. Our school attaches great importance to home-school cooperation. The SST regularly communicates with parents to let them know about their children's learning and support their learning and growth.
Education Support for Non-Chinese Speaking (NCS) Students
Home-School Co-operation Our Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) was established in 1999. Parents have actively participated in school affairs and activities. Parent representatives are invited to be the managers of the Incorporated Management Committee as a way to strengthen the cooperation between our school and our parents.
School Ethos We have a positive school ethos and culture, emphasising on students' growth. We provide students with comprehensive values education, social activities and positive life attitude so as to help them realise their potential and build up good interpersonal relationship.<br><br>Our whole-school participation approach supports the work of different committees: discipline, counselling, life education, life planning, extra-curricular activities and other learning experiences. We strive to cater for the different needs of students so that they can grow up happily in a healthy school full of love, trust and respect.

Teacher Professional Training and Development We have participated in School-based Professional Support Services and Gifted Education School Network run by the Education Bureau, obtaining about HK$1M from Quality Education Fund to enhance our school-based humanities curriculum. We connect different sectors in society to create a learning community within school, promoting professional exchanges. Our teaching team's achievement has also been recognised as our teachers have won the champion in academic competitions for 4 consecutive years.
Life-wide Learning There are more than 50 societies and clubs in 6 categories, including religion, service, academic subject, interest, art and sports. Leadership training camps, cross-border and overseas study tours as well as other learning activities are held every year to develop students’ interests and encourage students’ active participation.
