Language Policy English is adopted as the medium of instruction in all subjects except Chinese Language, Chinese History, Physical Education, Life-wide Learning, Religious Assembly, Ethics and Religious Studies and Visual Arts (S1 and/or S.2). The school is committed to providing an English-rich learning environment and authentic contexts for students to practise the language learnt in English classes. Through various activities, such as One-minute Inspiration speeches given by students, sharing sessions conducted by the NET and alumni, English learning activities and English Week, students are provided with more peer learning opportunities. In addition, with the implementation of English self-directed Learning Award Scheme, students are encouraged to learn English outside classroom. Through the Language Across the Curriculum course, the school aims to help S.1 students adapt to learning various subjects using English and develop their language and examination skills in these subjects.
Learning and Teaching Strategies The school strives to consolidate students' basic knowledge, develop their generic skills and encourage in students' positive value and attitude. An enquiry approach is adopted in our curriculum which focuses on active and interactive learning in lessons, encouraging students to learn through questioning and discussion.<br>In order to provide better education for different types of students, the school joined the Quality School Improvement Project offered by CUHK. Through attending seminars as well as implementing collaborative lesson preparation and lesson observation, we aim to equip teachers with more effective teaching strategies to take care of our students. The school also provides life-wide learning opportunities, which aim to foster students' generic skills through extending, enabling and enriching the knowledge obtained in the classroom. Besides, teaching with I.T. is adopted by our subject teachers in lessons to raise the effectiveness of learning. In addition, our school has fully implemented a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) policy for junior forms. The use of tablet computers and various online learning platforms helps with e-learning and m-learning inside the classroom and also for extended activities to raise the effectiveness of teaching and learning. Starting from academic year 2021-2022, electronic whiteboards will be installed in classrooms and special rooms.
School-based curriculum 1. Electives: 2X and 3X. Our school provides different combinations of subject electives for students to choose from.<br> 2. Curriculum highlights: 1. To cope with different student’s interest and the trend of social development, starting from 2021-22, the school offers Visual Arts and Tourism and Hospitality as two new elective subjects for students to choose from.<br>2. Curriculum highlights: Junior form curriculum focuses on helping students understand the basic subject knowledge, its connection with senior form curriculum and development of ability, values and attitude. In 2021-22, school-based curriculum integration is practiced in junior forms, including the subjects Science, Technology Education and Arts Education, etc.
Approach to Catering for Learner Diversity Various schemes and activities were planned and implemented to cater for student diversity in school. For better caring of individual students in classroom learning, small group teaching is practiced in S.1, in which 7 smaller groups are arranged for language lessons. Besides Homework Tutorial Class, Enhancement Courses and Revision Classes, the school also recommends students to attend Enhancement courses held by tertiary institutions and The Hong Kong Academy for Gifted Education. To provide a suitable environment for our students’ development, co-class teacher scheme is implemented in S.1, S.2 and S.3. In addition, Leadership Training and Sunshine Schemes are provided for catering to the needs of students’ development in different aspects. Besides, the school has established a SEN Team to cater to the special needs of some students in their learning.
Approach to Integrated Education The school established the SEN Team in the 2008-09 academic year to promote inclusive education. The team comprises members from various committees, as well as teachers from different subjects. Additionally, it includes an educational psychologist, a speech therapist, a school social worker, student counselors, and learning support teaching assistants. All team members have received relevant training. The school utilizes the Learning Support Grant to design school-based support programs for students with diverse learning needs, aiming to assist them in mastering the curriculum. Furthermore, in line with the spirit of home-school cooperation, the school regularly invites parents to participate in meetings to collaboratively develop and review individual learning plans for their children. Additionally, the school organizes workshops for parents to enhance their effectiveness in caring for, teaching, and nurturing their children.
Education Support for Non-Chinese Speaking (NCS) Students
Home-School Co-operation We strive for a good partnership between parents and school for providing quality education to students. Various educational events for parents are held each year to help parents have a better understanding of their children’s learning in school. These include an orientation seminar for S.1 parents, themed talks or seminars for parents of each form and parents’ days (held three times each year). Furthermore, the PTA organizes a number of activities which provides a sound foundation for home-school cooperation.
School Ethos The school sticks to its strict and austere tradition along with the principle that discipline, guidance and harmonious teacher-student relations are equally important to effective learning. The school has also been conducting activities on Invitational Education, promoting a caring culture among students.

Teacher Professional Training and Development To stay abreast of the development of curriculum and education environment, teachers are encouraged to take part in continuing professional training and professional exchanges with other institutions. In addition, staff development days are organized from time to time to provide training relevant to the major concerns of the school and the needs of staff members.
Life-wide Learning In light of the requirement of OLE and SLP in the HKDSE, the school has set policies concerning students’ participation in co-curricular activities. Students are encouraged to take part in sustainable and community service activities with the aim of developing students’ potential, perseverance and social responsibilities. The school provides more than ten student organisations and service groups, along with more than forty clubs, groups and school teams for students to join. To further provide life-wide learning and whole-person development, the school also organizes more than ten whole-school activities for students every year. Professional organizations or coaches are hired to offer suitable training for students. Furthermore, students are constantly encouraged to join activities held by tertiary institutions or professional organizations.
