Language Policy |
To further promote students' proficiency in Chinese and English, our school has implemented a new language policy in recent years. It is evident that the performance of our students in public examinations has been very encouraging. To provide a language-rich environment for students to become "bi-literate and tri-lingual", we organize weekly English morning assembly, Chinese and English choral speaking competitions, extensive reading schemes, multi-media learning activities, campus broadcast, English drama, debates, English Activity Lessons and English Creative Writing, etc. In line with the "fine-tuning" of the language policy in secondary schools, English is used as the Medium of Instruction in some subjects of some classes. In all junior forms, Mathematics and Science are taught in English and there are extended English learning activities to consolidate JS students' foundation in English. Students are then ready to switch to English-medium teaching in senior secondary. |
