Language Policy |
Our school mainly adopts Chinese as the medium of instruction (CMI) in junior forms whereas English or Chinese is used as the teaching medium in elective subjects in senior forms. To bridge the gap of senior secondary curriculum, we introduce English glossary in junior forms. Under Fine-tuning of Medium of instruction, we bring in English Bridging Course in junior forms. For CMI classes, extended learning activities (ELAs) in English, within 25% of lesson time, are implemented in subjects like Mathematics, Science, Geography, Computer Literacy, Life and Society, Design and Technology, Home Economics, Visual Arts, Music and Physical Education. ELAs occupy 5-10% of tests and exams. Chinese or English is adopted as teaching medium to cater for learner diversity in senior secondary curriculum.
