Language Policy Chinese is the major medium of instruction, and English is the medium of instruction in some subjects in junior forms. The Language Across the Curriculum Team proactively executes the school-based MOI measures, including cross-curriculum English enrichment programs, revision of the concepts of different subjects, assessment of relevant English vocabulary in all subjects in exams. Through activities like making English programmes on CampusTV, English Reading Session, English Ambassador Programme and Living English, the English proficiency of students can be enhanced.
Learning and Teaching Strategies All teachers who are degree holders of their field of study and have received professional teacher training possess a serious attitude towards teaching. The school has set up the Teaching and Learning Research Team to focus on how to devise diversified and effective strategies to boost the overall teaching effectiveness. <br>The school continues to implement the whole-school reading scheme. There is a reading corner in each classroom. The most suitable books that are placed in the corner for morning reading are purchased jointly by the homeroom teacher and students. In addition, there is a fifteen-minute newspaper reading time for students after lunch. This is on one hand, for the pleasure of reading and on the other hand, to keep abreast with current news. <br>As for creating an English-speaking environment, the school holds English Days to motivate and encourage students to speak. Besides, students need to participate in social services in school and the community as well as in leadership training activities in order to increase their willingness to serve people and to nurture their leadership skills.
School-based curriculum 1. Electives: 2X and 3X. There are 15 elective subjects.<br> 2. Curriculum highlights: PTH is used as the teaching medium for teaching Chinese Language subjects from S.1 to S.3. English ELA is implemented in selected subjects in junior forms.
Approach to Catering for Learner Diversity Streaming classes for S.1 to S.6 English subject. Split classes in Chinese and Mathematics are arranged in some forms. There are after school homework supplementary class, after-school classes, senior-form self-study program. SEN team is set up to help students with special learning needs.
Approach to Integrated Education a. Our school has set up the Students Support Team which is organized by the Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO). Members include the Vice Principal, Guidance Team teachers, Special Educational Needs Support teacher, the school social worker and the education psychologist.<br>b. The guiding principles and factors for consideration of using the additional resources: <br> 1. the set-up mechanism, early identification;<br> 2. home-school co-operation, timely intervention;<br> 3. evaluation of effectiveness regularly<br>c. The specific measures to support students with SEN:<br> 1. According to needs, there will be time adjustments in assessments, guidance after school, School Buddies Scheme for more-abled students to help less-abled students;<br> 2. Other learning support include encouraging students to take part in extra-curricular activities, competitions and voluntary work;<br> 3. Learning support include split class teaching, adjustments in curriculum and setting up assessment guidelines;<br> 4. The education psychologist and the school social worker will do psychological assessments of the students, offer emotional care and also provide consultation to teachers;<br> 5. Training of socializing skills in small groups will be provided;<br> 6. A 'Summary of Support for Student' will be given to parents of SEN annually and the school will collect their opinions through questionnaires to enhance communication and collaboration.
Education Support for Non-Chinese Speaking (NCS) Students
Home-School Co-operation Our parents and the school have developed an excellent partnership. The Parent-Teacher Association has set up a Volunteer Team, and has been actively rendering supports to the school programs. We have enjoyed a very close home-school co-operation relationship.
School Ethos Our school has a good reputation for pastoral care and guidance to students with the implementation of Citizenship, Economics and Society in junior form, 'Life Planning Program' and 'Life Education Program' in senior forms, special services for the newly-arrived students, S.1 & S.3 lunch program at school.

Teacher Professional Training and Development Teachers regularly take part in the development and training programmes. Teachers can grasp the latest information on education matters through participation in different workshops, meetings and seminars held by school. We have set up the Teaching & Learning Research Team to enhance the whole teaching efficacy.
Life-wide Learning Our school provides a great variety of extra-curricular activities for our students based on their different interests including sports, aesthetics, career-related experiences, moral & civic education, social service learning as well as academic learning. <br><br>In addition, our school is committed to implementing plenty of 'school-based learning experience' programs in response to the needs and capabilities of our students. The programs include trips on national study, overseas study tours, living-in English programs, uniform team programs, 'One Student, One Musical Instrument' is implemented for all Form One students, leadership training programs, teens' unleashed potential development programs, service learning and exchange study trips to Mainland and overseas. <br><br>We hope that, by running these programs, our students will have ample opportunities to learn beyond the classroom, exert their multiple intelligence as well as broaden their horizons.
