Learning and Teaching Strategies A balanced development of students is promoted through various activities and teaching modes. All subject panels, besides preparing syllabuses and work schemes, design learning activities suiting different students to promote class participation and development of generic skills. Teachers endeavour to foster students to become self-regulated learners by helping them develop indispensable learning habits.<br>The junior curricula provide general education and NSS students can opt for different subjects. Hence, various subject combinations are available. With an online reading platform, students can access books of various themes at school and at home. Approach to Catering for Learner Diversity The School upholds an effective policy on the development of gifted students and students needing remedial support. The former can join interest classes, courses or competitions to develop their potential while enhancement and remedial classes are offered to weaker students. In addition, on-line exercises of different levels of difficulty are provided by various subjects and students can complete them to enhance their academic standards in accordance with their needs.
Approach to Integrated Education The School deploys internal and external resources and fully utilizes the Learning Support Grant to provide support needed for those students with special educational needs (SEN). Besides adjusting the assessment requirements for and providing Individual Education Plans to them, the School also offers counselling programs to suit their individual needs. There is close collaboration with their parents, who are constantly briefed on the progress of their children. Home-School Co-operation A newsletter and a school newspaper are published every year to give first-hand information about the development of the School and its policies to parents. The Parent-Teacher Association holds activities like talks, workshops and outings to facilitate home-school co-operation. Besides mobilizing parent volunteers to provide assistance to the activities of the School, the Parent-Teacher Association also reflects the parent views collected to the School. Scholarships for students excelling in sports, art or music are offered to encourage students to have an all-round development while assistance is given to the fund-raising activities of the School for improving its facilities. Furthermore, there is a Parents' Day every school term to let parents realize the performance of students at school.
School Ethos Students are educated to become enlightened, abide by rules and understand the school motto through School Assemblies, talks on moral education, extra-curricular activities, etc. Subject panels and functional committees try to implement the idea of healthy school through various activities.
