Language Policy |
To facilitate the learning of English through language-across-the-curriculum, the policy of medium of instruction will be launched according to different abilities of the students and characteristics of subjects. In junior forms, we fully utilize the flexibility given by the EDB with extended learning activities in English proportion to 25% of the lesson time. There is a gradual adoption of using English as MOI at junior and senior secondary levels. To enrich English learning environment, we adopt team-teaching and split-class teaching from Form 1 to Form 6 and organize a wide variety of activities. In 2019, our F.1 boys were the winner in choral speaking at the 71st Hong Kong Schools Speech Festival. Putonghua Morning Assembly and the Curriculum Review on Putonghua and Chinese Language are conducted to enhance the effectiveness of the learning of Chinese Language and enrich the Putonghua learning environment. |
Learning and Teaching Strategies |
Through regular curriculum review, a variety of learning strategies and continuous professional development, we enhance the effectiveness of our teaching, instill in students positive attitudes, develop students' generic, self-regulated and lifelong learning skills and improve their performance in public examinations. By creating positive and proactive learning atmosphere, students' learning motivation and potential are boosted and stretched. |

Curriculum highlights: To enhance the effectiveness of learning and teaching, the curricula of all subjects have been tailor-made to suit students' needs and interests. Knowledge, skill and attitude are explicitly nurtured in the junior forms so that the student could transit to the senior forms smoothly. Application of knowledge & generic skills in an integrative manner as well as an entrepreneurial spirit are fostered through a variety of life-wide learning. IT in education and STEM have been the main focus in the curriculum development recently. Students could be well-prepared for the future's learning as well as social needs. |
Approach to Catering for Learner Diversity |
We have established Students Support Team to help students to develop study plans through the coordination of different shareholders. To cater for learning diversity, our school has introduced a variety of approaches, such as curriculum reviews, tailoring different teaching strategies, class arrangement, collaboration with other professionals in education, etc. |
Approach to Integrated Education |
The school has successfully developed an inclusive and caring culture. A whole-school approach to promote integrated education is adopted. With the introduction of various curriculum designs, diversified teaching strategies, tiered assignments and appropriate assessment adjustments, students' learning effectiveness is maximized. The Student Support Group has been established to support the local and non-Chinese students with special education needs, especially in helping those to apply for the corresponding assessment adjustments at the public exam in order to improve the fairness of the exam. |

Home-School Co-operation |
To foster Home-School cooperation, parent representatives are invited to join our IMC through election to jointly manage the school. Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) is keen on promoting parent education, we organize workshops and talks to enhance their parenting skills. Also PTA holds various types of interest classes and parents-children activities to let parents and children share memorable moments together. Apart from these, PTA invites parent volunteers to help facilitate the school’s events and community projects, e.g. uniform donation project, Caritas Charity Bazaar. Besides, PTA provides scholarships for students with excellent academic results or sports achievements, and for those who make gradual improvement in academic. |
School Ethos |
The school is committed to creating a caring learning environment and developing positive education on campus. The school continues to strengthen its values education, nurturing students to 'self-discipline, self-love and mutual love' and promote students' sense of responsibility. (ESR report May, 2019)<br>We aim at cultivating students' positive attitudes in time of adversity through different "Whole Person Development" programs and nurturing them with five core values: "Truth", "Justice", "Love", "Life" and "Family". Our mottoes this year are "Enhance students' positive values and attitudes, and further develop their potentials." To help our students achieve these and obtain better academic results, the school has implemented a lot of policies and organised various activities. For example, we devote a lot of care to our students through classroom management and 'Twin Form-Master Policy'. All teachers constantly make good use of different channels to communicate with students & parents. We strengthen students' whole-person development by arranging diverse programs on leadership and discipline training programs, community service scheme, career-planning programs for them. The Parent-Teacher Association and Old Boys' Association also encourage our students to strive for academic excellence in public examinations by awarding scholarships to the outstanding ones. |
School Development Plan |
This is the last year of our three-year school development programme. A variety of strategies are used to help boost students’ motivation to learn independently.<br>Besides, with the introduction of diversified learning activities, we aim at developing students’ innovative spirit, enhancing their knowledge, nurturing their positive values, improving their inter-personal skills and honing their self-control ability.<br>Moreover, the school attaches great importance to the five core values of Catholic education, namely, Life, Truth, Love, Family and Justice, in order to provide students with a holistic education. |
Teacher Professional Training and Development |
Our school actively promotes continuous professional development for our teachers. The External School Review team affirmed the well organized activities of our continuous professional development. It stated that different varieties of workshops and trainings were held in order to enrich teachers' understanding of the latest educational policies and teaching strategies. The school also made great efforts to develop spiritual education for teachers. Training and sharing activities were also provided by our sponsoring body for strengthening the leadership of our mid-level leaders. We have invited a number of scholars in tertiary education to assist us in our continuous professional development for our teachers; our teachers actively participate in various workshops and seminars to enhance their professional development. The total number of hours of continuous professional development of all teachers is 4553.55 in the academic year 2022-2023. On average, each teacher was engaged in about 75 hours of professional development activities. |
Life-wide Learning |
There are thirty-six clubs of different natures to realize the talents and interests of students. Joint school activities are also held regularly throughout the school year, e.g. English Oral Practices, Evangelization Variety Show. |
