Language Policy Our College is an EMI school. Not only are the lessons taught in English, our morning assemblies, weekly assemblies, daily announcements and school activities are mainly conducted in English to provide an authentic environment for language learning. We have four native English speaking teachers who organize a wide range of English activities during lunchtime and after school at the English Activities Centre and the English Corner. There is an overseas exchange student studying in our school to allow our students more opportunities to use English. To enhance our students' Putonghua proficiency, not only is Putonghua taught in junior secondary, but the school also organizes regular Putonghua activities.
Learning and Teaching Strategies Our school aims at enhancing students' self-learning and life-long learning capabilities. Through extensive reading, observations, discussions and a wide variety of learning activities, students' generic skills are developed and learning motivation is boosted.
School-based curriculum 1. Electives: 2X and 3X. Our school offers a wide range of senior secondary elective subjects in different key learning areas, with different subject combinations for students to choose from.<br> 2. Curriculum highlights: Our Junior Secondary curriculum places great emphasis on developing students' different generic skills such as collaboration skills, problem-solving skills, self-learning skills, critical thinking, communication skills, creativity, IT and mathematical skills through the learning activities designed by different key learning areas. In senior levels, we offer a great variety of elective subjects as well as flexible subject combinations for the students to choose from, so as to allow them more opportunities for personal development and to prepare them for work and further studies. Besides, our school-based curriculum includes junior secondary Health Education, Visual Arts, Physical Education and STEM Enhancement Programmes and Life-wide Learning lessons for all levels.
Approach to Catering for Learner Diversity To cater to learner diversity, small group teaching is practised in junior secondary Chinese Language, English Language and Mathematics lessons. Students are grouped according to their learning abilities. Through a wide range of learning activities and assignments of different levels of difficulty, students' diverse learning needs are catered, and so they have become more interested, motivated and confident to learn. Apart from designing suitable programmes such as enrichment and reinforcement classes, and Reaching for the Stars Scheme for students of different abilities and needs to enhance their learning effectiveness, the school also provides learning support for those who intend to further excel in specialized sports. We also offer enhancement programmes for students who are talented in sports, art and technology to let them fully realize their potential. Our school forms partnership with the Hong Kong Sports Institute to tailor a highly flexible senior curriculum to accommodate elite athletes’ sporting commitments so as to facilitate their excellence in sports without compromising their academic pursuits.
Approach to Integrated Education Our school Pastoral Care and Learning Support departments work closely with the school social workers, educational psychologist and other specialists to disseminate information regarding students' learning needs to teachers on a regular basis. They also provide training for teachers and a wide range of services and activities such as programmes on reading strategies, study skills, social skills and personal growth for our students in order that our students can adapt to the new school environment more easily and maintain a healthy and happy school life.
Education Support for Non-Chinese Speaking (NCS) Students
Home-School Co-operation Since the establishment of the Parent-teacher Association in January 2009, it has built a strong relationship with the school. Regular meetings involving the school and the association have been serving as an effective platform for the parents to communicate suggestions on how to foster school development.<br>Besides, the association organises an array of seminars and workshops for parents. To further strengthen the bond between parents and students, parent volunteers provide services such as lending recreational equipment to students, which also connects the parents.<br>The Chairperson of the Parent-teacher Association is elected by all parents. The Chairperson elected becomes a member of the Incorporated Management Committee as the Parent Manager.
School Ethos The school aims at nurturing students' whole person development. Apart from students' academic attainments, great emphasis is placed on students' moral development. A whole-school approach incorporating education, discipline and guidance is adopted. Through different initiatives such as Form-based Pastoral Care Programme, dual class teacher system, Health Education, morning assemblies and life-wide learning, the school aims to inculcate in students' self-management skills, correct values, good virtues and living habits, as well as a positive attitude towards life.

Teacher Professional Training and Development We value teachers' professional development and a number of teachers' training programmes have been initiated including Overseas Exchange Programmes, Lesson Observations, Co-lesson Planning, Teachers' Mentoring Circle and so on to strengthen the support network as well as to encourage teachers' self-reflection.
Life-wide Learning The school offers a wide range of co-curricular and extracurricular activities. On the aspect of Sports Education, with the "One Life One Sport" and "Elite Athletes Training Programme", the school is committed to exploring and developing students' talents in sports such as table-tennis, badminton, fencing, cycling, basketball, soccer, track & field and swimming. In art and design, an Annual Fashion Show is organised to provide a valuable learning experience for all. In order to combine the elements of Art and Chinese culture, our school has also introduced Pottery Workshop as co-curriculum activities for junior students, while providing opportunities for students to participate in design competition outside of school. For STEM Education, besides learning of basic STEM technology such as programming, robotics, circuits, 3D printing, laser cutting/engraving, VR/AR/MR and conducting MAKER projects through our IT, STEM enhancement program curriculum and cross-curricular learning activities, students can also join our STEM school team to take part in "Cutting-edge Pilot Schemes", which includes Biotechnology, Automation, Artificial Intelligence (A.I.), Internet of things (IoT), data analysis, etc. Moreover, students will be selected to represent school to participate in STEM competitions, to do sharing in conferences, exhibitions and media. Apart from societies and uniform groups such as Hong Kong Air Cadet Corps, Scouts, Marching Band and St. John Ambulance, we also arrange community services and leadership training for them so as to develop in them self-discipline and team spirit, as well as to help them explore their leadership potential and to nurture them to become future leaders. Besides, overseas study tours are organised annually to develop in students an international outlook.<br>
