Language Policy English is used as the Medium of Instruction for all academic and cultural subjects, except for Chinese Language, Chinese History and Life Education. Putonghua is used as the Medium of Instruction for Chinese Language and Chinese History. As language is the tool to all learning, accessibility and creativity, language progression is vastly cultivated in our school through many ways: integrating debate, drama and literature elements into the language curricula; organizing activities such as exchange programmes with overseas schools; hosting inter-house drama, debate and public speaking contests; inviting professionals from around the globe to give talks and exchange with our students. These activities help raise literacy standards by providing pupils with rich learning experiences.
Learning and Teaching Strategies Language permeates the whole curriculum both as a vehicle for learning and as an object of study in its own right. The school aims at cultivating our students' interest in reading and writing, which is one of the key components for students to excel in learning. Every teaching staff, irrespective of their subject areas, shall promote literacy with due emphasis on text-attack skills and good reading behaviour, using writing frames to help students scaffold their writing skills. Teaching children about making, presenting and responding to drama is one of our system approaches in curriculum development that will lead to a fun learning process and open up new possibilities for developing children's literacy. Our school curriculum, structured to maintain both breadth and balance, is catering for students' different needs, abilities and interest. In order to build on the excellent achievement of a "through-train" school, teachers of the 'through-train' schools exchange and discuss regularly on issues relating the smooth transition between primary and secondary school curriculum.

Mathematics (Extended Part Module 2), Chinese Literature, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Information and Communication Technology, Geography, Economics, Business, Accounting and Financial Studies, Chinese History, Technology and Living, Music, Physical Education, Visual Arts.
2. Curriculum highlights: Diversified school-based programmes that aim to enrich learning through authentic experiences, are offered to cater for students' academic, personal, social and developmental needs, viz. Approach to Catering for Learner Diversity The core of our curriculum serves to cultivate multiple intelligences and appreciate diverse cultures; which is supplemented with elite teams training, remedial measures as well as mentorship programs in pursuit of whole-person development.
Approach to Integrated Education Employment of multidimensional teaching pedagogies
SEN Coordinator, school social workers, guidance and counseling group follow-up
Education Support for Non-Chinese Speaking (NCS) Students
Home-School Co-operation We highly value home-school co-operation. Parents are informed of the progress of their children and the latest school development through various communication channels, including school circulars, the school website and Parents’ Day. Parent volunteers also assist in school functions such as Sports Day and Games Day. The Parent-Teacher Association serves as a bridge to strengthen the communication in building up a mutual support network for a better learning environment and school development.
School Ethos Catering for the physical and psychological development of our students, the school has launched numerous programmes to help cultivate students' sense of commitment and responsibility to family and to serve the community. Students are encouraged to apply their critical thinking skills, creativity and self-management for problem solving skills to brave future challenges. We encourage parents to join the "Parent Voluntary Team" to walk hand in hand with our staff to nurture a loving and caring culture for the others.
School Development Plan Priority will be given to the strategic development of the New Senior Secondary Curriculum and school-based assessment, Research-based Learning, Self-directed Learning, STEAM Education, e-learning, the promotion of students' social engagement through students' organizations and ECAs, Gifted Programme for Music, Visual Arts and P.E. for the next five years. The establishment of Chu Lee Yuet Wah Academic Building (New Annex) represents the new chapter of our school development. With the support of the New Annex, we can create more learning platforms for developing the potentials and interests of students. In comparison with schools with similar S1 intake, our school performed impressively and remarkably in the past years and the performance far exceeded the expected level. With a good foundation of HKDSE, our school rises to challenge in the education reform. Our school is developing 5 innovative projects which are supported by Quality Education Fund (QEF):
1. STEM Education with a Focus on Stem Cell Science – Development of School-Based Stem Cell Science Curriculum for Secondary School Students ($599,600)
2. A Whole School PE curriculum of Fitness Training ($543,000)
3. From Runway to Pathway: Establishing a School-based STEM Aerospace Learning Programme and Exemplary Laboratory ($597,200)
4.
