Through flexible deployment of the “Learning Support Grant” and the eclectic use of other resources available in our school, our team strategically designs support programs for students with special educational needs. Our programs include literacy training, speech therapy, student support service (social worker) and study skills training. The panel chairpersons of Chinese, English, Mathematics and Citizenship and Social Development are invited to be the academic advisers of our team. Their main duty is to cater for students' learning diversity through curriculum design, diversified teaching strategies, assignments and assessment adjustments so as to enhance the learning effectiveness of students with special educational needs. Our team works closely with the Education Bureau and the educational psychologist by having regular meetings and carrying out diagnostic assessments for students. We also invite parents to attend meetings to develop Individual Education Plans for students as well as monitor and review the measures so as to enhance their learning effectiveness. Our school has always valued professional development. We encourage teachers to attend SEN training programs and seminars so as to enhance their professional capacities of taking care of students with special educational needs.
