Language Policy We are an EMI school. Most of the academic subjects are taught in English. Some Chinese classes are taught in Putonghua. Besides, Japanese and French are offered as third language options.
Learning and Teaching Strategies We emphasize Biblical teaching, training in bi-literate and trilingual proficiency and thinking skills. We provide a diversified curriculum. <br>To develop students' active learning habits and help them build good characters, we introduce the following:<br>1. Establishing learning communities;<br>2. Using IT to promote interactive learning;<br>3. Broadening the learning sky and conglomerating social resources so that students' learning becomes more authentic and diversified;<br>4. Developing a school-based STEAM program to equip students with related skills;<br>5. Developing self-regulated learning attitude to enhance learning effectiveness.
School-based curriculum 1. Electives: 2X and 3X. Other than the four core subjects, students can choose 2X or 3X from each subject group (each subject group contains six to seven DSE elective subjects).<br> 2. Curriculum highlights: UCCKE has designed school-based learning materials for the following subject programs:<br> i. STEAM curriculum, <br> ii. Dormitory Training Program, <br> iii. Mission and Service activities.
Approach to Catering for Learner Diversity The Dream Project aims to encourage students to pursue their interests, providing financial and in-kind support to help them realise their dream projects. Under their own initiatives, students are responsible for planning and managing their projects, with guidance from teachers. Previous projects have included writing story books, poems, music and online content on Christianity; producing photo albums, etc.
Approach to Integrated Education 1. Offering tutorials or counselling for SEN students who are facing learning difficulties.<br>2. Developing interpersonal skills through activities, like Executive Function training and sand painting.<br>3. Continual offering of social skills group for targeted students.<br>4. Offering Mindfulness workshop for parents with SEN students.<br>5. EP Service available to support students in need.
Education Support for Non-Chinese Speaking (NCS) Students
Home-School Co-operation The school has developed a close partnership with parents. The PTA is well established to support parents and the school. The Parent-Teacher Happy Hour is a precious time for teachers and parents to get together regularly.
School Ethos Founded on Biblical principles, we endeavour to establish a modest and caring school ethos through the love, guidance and firm discipline of the teachers. In order to take care of the diverse needs of the students, the school has implemented a 'Form teacher and Assistant Form Teacher' partnership system and stationed Educational Psychologist, social workers and student counselors in the school. We also maintain close contact with parents via PTA, Parent-Teacher Happy Hour, Parents' Night, Parents' Day and Parent Class. We are dedicated to promoting parents education. Our school church United Christian Community Church organizes Parents Class to help equip parents with the skills necessary for parenting their adolescent children.

Life-wide Learning We have Student Council, four Houses, various clubs and interest groups; we offer different sports teams, instrumental classes, orchestra, choir and Christian fellowship; and we organize a wide range of training camps, visits, services, trips and exchange programs (local, Mainland and overseas) to widen our students' horizons and to nurture their leadership, talents, positive values and sense of responsibility.
