Language Policy |
Science has been taught in English in all Junior forms. Some classes in junior forms are taught in English as the medium of instruction (EMI) in some subjects (Mathematics, Life and Society, Geography, Computer Literacy) while Chinese (CMI) plus Extended Learning Activities in English are adopted in some subjects in different junior forms (Computer Literacy, Home Economics, Bible Studies, Music, Visual Arts, Life and Society, Geography and History). The DSE subjects like BAFS, Mathematics (Extended Parts M1 & M2), Economics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Geography are conducted in English to meet the needs and capabilities of students. |
Learning and Teaching Strategies |
Students' English proficiency is strengthened by our two Native-speaking English Teachers. Students can also participate in various activities in English Cafe, English Drama, English Writing and Oral Classes and English Ambassador Scheme. Life-wide Learning, Project Learning and e-learning are promoted with the aid of I.T. facilities and audio-visual aids. The schemes of Lesson Observation and Assignment Review, Web-based Homework Diary and a variety of Award Schemes of Learning have been implemented. The school-based curricula in different subjects are tailor-made to fit the needs and progresses of students. |

Approach to Catering for Learner Diversity |
To meet the students' needs, small-class teaching in Chinese, English and Mathematics is conducted with tailor-made curriculum in various forms. The progress of teaching as well as the assessment of learning are conducted in accordance with the students' academic foundation and learning ability. |
Approach to Integrated Education |
Our school has implemented the Whole School Approach to Integrated Education since 2001. We also formed a Task Group and cooperated with different subject teams to provide assistance for those students with special educational needs. In order to promote the idea of equality and inclusion, and create a harmonious and inclusive school culture, our school holds numerous educational activities every year, such as Dialogue in the Dark Experience and Inclusive Fun Day, which help students learn mutual respect in a relaxing and interesting environment. Besides, we regularly set and review students’ learning goals. To cater for individual needs of our students, we also give advice on adjusting teaching methodology and curriculum. We also provided different training groups for students with special educational needs such as social skills groups, development of executive skills groups, communication skills groups, etc. |

Home-School Co-operation |
With outstanding achievements, the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) holds a series of Parents' nights, Parents' Days, Parents' groups, seminars, talks, courses and workshops on family education which are regularly held to meet parent's needs. A number of activities including orientations, cookery classes and interest classes are held every year. PTA helps publish PTA bulletin and implement "collection & sale of old textbooks" service every year. |

The school emphasizes self-discipline, respect and good school ethos through religious, moral and civic education, leadership training, social services, pastoral care by form-teachers, personal-growth schemes and extra-curricular activities. Through different kinds of collaborative and personal development activities, students learn to appreciate, respect, accept and trust, and build up the sense of belonging to school. The School implements Integration Education and Peer Counselling Scheme to cultivate the school ethos of mutual respect and acceptance. |

Life-wide Learning |
Has more than 30 school clubs and teams: Scouts, Sea Cadet Corps & St. John Ambulance; CYC, Youth Succeed in Life Programme, school choirs, Chinese Orchestra; Western Orchestra, Handbell Team, school teams of track and field, swimming, basketball, volleyball, badminton, table tennis, football, rope skipping; Speech teams of Chinese, English & Putonghua, Mathematics Team, Putonghua Team; Clubs of Chinese, English Drama, Chinese History, Interest Classes, Art & Home Economics Society. The School trains student ambassadors on civic education. Through the participation in flag-raising ceremony, and visits to the Mainland, students realize the developments of economy education, and the school organizes a Life-wide Learning Day for all students from different forms to explore their potentials. |
