Language Policy |
1. To enhance students’ motivation to learn and their learning effectiveness, our school adopts Chinese as the major language of instruction. <br>2. To raise students’ English standard, native English teachers (NET) have been employed. An English Reading Scheme has been implemented. In junior forms, a vocabulary list of 50 to 70 words both in Chinese and English for each subject is provided for students. In some subjects, additional English questions are set. <br>3. To put emphasis on activities like writing practice, Verse Speaking Competitions, Learning English Through Singing, telling stories in Putonghua, and broadcasting on campus radio to implement the biliterate and trilingual policy. <br>4. Arrange students to take courses to prepare them for the public examinations like Trinity College Graded Examination in Spoken English, IELTS, and finance them to sit for the public examinations.<br>5. To collaborate with the service provider SolidMemory, students can make good use of their leisure time to learn more English vocabulary through the online electronic platform.<br>6. Our school has a Native English Teacher (NET). Apart from taking part in classroom teaching, they conduct English learning activities in the English Learning Centre as well.<br>7. English Drama enhances students’ interest in learning English. Every year, our school takes part in drama competitions and perform in our School Graduation Ceremony. |
Learning and Teaching Strategies |
1. Students prepare for lessons before class and consolidate their learning through classwork and notes. <br>2. Make good use of E-learning to promote students’ self-learning through different online learning platforms. A free subject selection mechanism is set up in senior forms to allow students to study three elective subjects according to their abilities and interests.<br>3. Provide experiential learning for students to reinforce their learning.<br>4. The school gradually improves students’ learning ability through diversified classroom teaching to ensure that students’ scores in public examinations can be further improved.<br><br> |

Approach to Catering for Learner Diversity |
In 2019, our school started joining the Learning Support Grant of the Inclusive Education Scheme, providing educational services to cater for the students with special educational needs (SENS). |
Approach to Integrated Education |
Under the Inclusive Education Scheme, there is a student support team. The Student Support Team currently consists of the Principal (Advisor), the Vice Principal, Prefect of Students Affairs, Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO), the Guidance and Discipline Master and Mistress, the Chinese, English, and Maths Panel Heads, the School Social Worker, the Educational Psychologist and the Speech Therapist. A number of teachers and assistant counsellors were assigned to take care of different special educational needs. In addition, resources were allocated to provide diversified services and activities for them, helping them to enhance their life skills and career planning skills.<br>During the last academic year, the school made adaptations in curriculum design and the division of classes to match the list of different student characteristics as well as to enhance the learning and teaching effectiveness. Besides encouraging teachers to attend SEN-related courses by the Education Bureau, the school will provide school-based courses, seminars, and workshops to equip teachers with the teaching and learning skills to provide guidance for the students. The school and parents will work hand in hand in order to let the parents know the learning progress of their children in our school. |

School Ethos |
The school maxim is simplicity. The Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups provides two social workers for our school. More than ten experienced teachers form a Guidance and Discipline Team and Life Education Team. They have carried out a series of activities for students like “S.1 Student Mentoring Scheme” and “Lionian Award Scheme”, “Class Management Scheme” and “the Big Brother/Big Sister Scheme” to let students immerse themselves in student life and increase self-esteem. |

Life-wide Learning |
To create opportunities for students to learn from actual experience to help them aim for holistic development and life-long learning in our ever-changing society, overseas trips have been organized. In 2022-2023, teachers led students to take part in the following overseas learning tours. For instance, Beijing High-speed Railway Youth Learning Tour, The Guangzhou Sister School Learning Tour, The Qinghai Learning Tour, The Zhuhai Aerospace Science and Technology Learning Tour as well as The 2023 Shenzhen-Hong Kong Youth Siyuan Journey Summer Camp. In addition, students were sponsored to participate in the Lions Club Overseas English Exchange Tours and Overseas English Immersion Programme. |
