Language Policy 1. Our MOI policy in junior forms aims at bridging students to study senior forms mainly using English as the medium of instruction. Maths and IS would be taught in English in all S.1 and S.2 classes starting from the 2022/23 school year. Geography, Computer Literacy and Life & Society will be taught in English in a particular class. We even offer English handouts in cultural subjects.<br>2. For the first time in the academic year of 2012-13 we offer in senior forms the subjects of History, Geography, Economics using English as MOI. We organize English Speaking Day in every teaching cycle and we encourage students to speak more English in campus with presents.<br>3. We also stress on Chinese and Putonghua. We offer lessons of classical Chinese in order to quip students with necessary knowledge to study HKDSE Chinese. However, our Chinese lessons are conducted in Cantonese only.
Learning and Teaching Strategies 1. Bridging course to assist students to adapt EMI in F.4.<br>2. We always require students to prepare for lessons.<br>3. We require students to reflect their studies; they should also set learning targets. <br>4. Peer classroom observation and marking observation.<br>5. We participate in the reading schemes organized by HKEdCity. Our students also take part in on-line reading clubs and other reading projects. <br>6. Pooling more resources to award students who are making progress.<br>7. We promote Self-Regulated Learning.<br>8. "Learning attitude" grades (by subjects) shown in student's report card.<br>9. Routine award scheme -- students have the chance to be reward because of good learning performance in every single lesson.
School-based curriculum 1. Electives: 2X, 3X and 4X. Applied Learning offered to a few students who are in need. The brightest students can study three or four elective subject.<br> 2. Curriculum highlights: <br> a. Life and Health Education: including moral education, civic education, sex education and career planning.<br> b. A lot of remedial tutorials in all forms.<br> c. A lot of routine make-up classes in senior forms.<br> d. We recruit brilliant graduates to offer tutorials to public exam classes.<br> e. Students can learn Virtual Reality in the lessons of Computer Literacy.<br> f. We offer OLE within and without classrooms.
Approach to Catering for Learner Diversity A mechanism catering for students' special education needs. Most subjects have group activities in order to cater for learners' diversity. Group leaders have to guide weaker students and lead group learning activities.<br>
Approach to Integrated Education We adopt a whole school approach to implement Integrated Education. We have formed a Student Support Team (which comprises of vice-principals, SEN coordinator, education psychologist, speech therapist, subject teachers, counselors, social workers and teacher assistants) and this team supports needy students<br>We use the Learning Support Grant as well as other resources to supply support of various kinds to students, which include social etiquette training groups, counseling services and remedial programs. We also cater for learning-diversity through tailoring teaching program, diversifying teaching strategies, stratifying homework quizzes and exams into different level of difficulties.<br>An Individualized educational program (IEP) will be developed for a specific student during the school year to address his/her individual needs. We have a referral system so as to spot those students with special education needs as early as possible.<br>We also work closely with EDB psychologists to hold periodical meetings and undertake students’ assessment.<br>We emphasize the importance of cooperation with parents and to that ends we have developed a routine channel of communication. We discuss with parents for proper supporting strategies on electronic platforms or face-to-face meetings.<br>Our speech therapist also meets parents periodically in order to understand the needs of the students and to provide professional advice on supporting methods.
Education Support for Non-Chinese Speaking (NCS) Students
Home-School Co-operation Family education are disseminated through PTA activities formally and informally. There are parent delegates in the Board of Directors. PTA scholarship.
School Ethos Our teachers patrol in nearby districts. Stress on Home-school Co-operation. All junior form students do voluntary services. Our brilliant graduates will serve as tutors to teach our current students.<br>Our students shall have a great accomplishment in the following areas when they graduate: leadership, morality, scholarship and temperance.
School Development Plan 1. To cultivate good learning attitude.<br>2. To cultivate positive values among students.<br>3. To increase the percentage of EMI lesson time.<br>4. HKJC has offered us $128,080,000 to build a swimming gymnasium (to be completed soon and in use in 2024). It shall consist of a 25m heated main pool (10 lines) and a 15m warm-up pool (5 lines).

Life-wide Learning In order to facilitate our students to adapt to a globalized and diversified society in the future, our ECA policy is student-based and it stresses on the development of students' different potentials. Our ECA theme is "Training Capabilities and Cultivating Qualities". We organize Friday ECA days and we have 70 clubs, form associations, 4 houses, class associations, co-curricular groups and uniform teams. We also introduce a mechanism to assess students' ECA performance.<br>Besides the customary ECAS, we have shuttlecock, judo and archery teams. Since our school sponsoring body has almost finished the construction of an in-door swimming facility, we are very likely to set up a school swimming team.<br>We emphasize social service. More than half of our students have performed services. Our students have accumulated more than 4,000 hours of voluntary services annually (before COVID 19).<br>We have Activity Day which offers day camps to our students so as to provide more co-curricular activities.<br>Leader training camp to enhance the leadership skill of our students.
