Apart from high proficiency in English, Chinese and Putonghua, our students have the chance to learn a third language, such as French, Spanish, German, Korean & Japanese. Specially designed immersion exchange programmes are organized to provide a first-hand experience to their respective countries while boosting their English, French , Spanish, German and Putonghua language skills. |
Learning and Teaching Strategies |
The school is a learning school in a learning world for a learning century. We offer a balanced and broad-based curriculum that forges in our learners a sturdy knowledge-and-skills-oriented foundation. The teachers apply effective pedagogy in teaching. They adopt a needs-specific approach to address the entire range of student ability. This way, all students can proficiently develop a broad knowledge base and attain holistic progress. The school provides an alternative curriculum and international assessments to maximise students' opportunities for further studies and multiple career pathways. We have enjoyed the EDB-credited status of being the most effective school in uplifting the academic performance of our students for decades. |
School-based curriculum |
1. Electives: 3X. The school offers sixteen electives, including French and ApL courses for the DSE curriculum.<br> 2. Curriculum highlights: SPCS is a forerunner of multiple curriculum - DSE, IGCSE, GCE, IAL, ApL, BTEC. Our school-based curriculum offers unique learning experience opportunities such as Ming Yi, Learning to Learn, mediation course and a Diversified Interest Programme with over 30 options every Friday afternoon. The school organize various IT-related activities, such as the AR/VR Experiential Course, the AI Gerontechnology Course, and a post-exam Advanced AI Technologies Course for F.4 students. The school will receive an additional one million dollars of funding through the IT Innovation Lab initiative for the subsequent three school years from 2023/24 to 2025/26 for supporting its ongoing IT projects as well as new initiatives. Examples of these projects include the ASTRON Space Program, the drones show production course and a foundation course on information security specifically designed for our F.4 and F.5 DSE students. Furthermore, to promote a global outlook and global citizenship, the school organised many cultural exchange activities for the students including Pearl River Delta Cultural Tour for all F.1 students, Putonghua Immersion Programme in Beijing Language and Culture University for all F.2 students, HKUST (Guangzhou) STEM Programme, MIT Women’s Technology Program (WTP) and Summer School Programme at Christ Church, Oxford for F.3-F.5 students and Music Tour to different parts of Europe, Language Tours to Spain, France and Germany. |

Different strategies, including split classes, gifted groups, Big Sisters Scheme, Peer Mentoring Programme, e-Learning platforms and support study groups help students with diverse learning needs. |
Approach to Integrated Education |
Our School provides equal learning opportunities for all students with different gifts and talents, including diverse learning needs in every aspect. To cater for the diverse needs of students with special educational needs (SEN), the SEN team works closely in collaboration with all stakeholders, including form teachers, subject teachers, parents, and the school's social workers in order to support students adequately and holistically. |

Home-School Co-operation is greatly supported by the Parent-Teacher Association which symbolizes the educational partnership between parents and teachers. The school provides a diverse and innovative curriculum which incorporates elements of STEAM education and entrepreneurship, to offer multiple pathways to students and to prepare them for tertiary education and a fast-changing technological world. through the implementation of the Lion Rock Spirit and a whole-school cross-curricular approach to implementing the National Security Education in both the formal and informal curriculum, the school helps students develop a sense of national identity and become law-abiding citizens.
