Language Policy |
1. All language teachers are well-versed with relevant qualifications for subject specialization to boost students’ bilingual and tri-dialect competence. The deployment of Native English Teacher also makes possible a wide array of activities Through English Across Curricular initiatives, junior form students are taught in English in specific topics of chosen subjects. Rich English campus atmosphere is cultivated through school based e-learning platform. Apart from routine academic weeks like English Week, Chinese Culture Week and Putonghua Days, the school is also actively coaching students for Hong Kong Schools Speech Festival, Writing Contest and Story Telling Competitions, and has seen years of excellent achievements.<br>2. The student actively participates in extracurricular language activities and has achieved notable accomplishments. They received the individual 2nd place, as well as team third place in the "Liwen Cup" 2nd Chinese Culture and Tourism Knowledge Competition, co-organized by Ta Kung Wen Wei Media and China Culture Media Group Limited. Students are also a frequent participant in the Hong Kong Schools Speech Festival and achieved remarkable success in the 74th Hong Kong Schools Speech Festival (2022), winning a total of 3 championships, 2 first runners-up, 9 second runners-up, 8 merits, and 1 good certificate. |
Learning and Teaching Strategies |
1. Both Enrichment and Remedial classes to prepare senior-form students for public examination while after-school tutorials and summer bridging courses to help S.1 students settle in are well in place.<br>2. Focused Inspection Report 2020 gave positive recognition to the materialisation of self-review culture in that structural planning based on existing mechanism to support students' home learning and all-round development as well as follow-up measures upon resumption of lessons during COVID-19. Students' learning motivation was well kept along side the promotion of on-line teaching and learning. |

1. Electives: 2X and 3X. Students can choose 2 to 3 electives from a pool of 11 subjects in accordance with their ability and interest.<br> 2. Curriculum highlights: School-based curriculum designed by teachers is set for junior form STEAM Education to keep abreast with the education reform as well as respond to students' learning needs. In respect of the need for writing up of Student Learning Portfolio and whole-person development, the School takes effort in nominating suitable students of senior forms for doing Applied Learning. |
Approach to Catering for Learner Diversity |
Streaming and split-class teaching are in tandem with graded materials and after-school learning activities to cater for learners' diversity while exemplifying the value of peer learning and inclusive mindset. Individual learning needs are well catered for through the ethos of mutual respect and acceptance. |
Approach to Integrated Education |
The School is keen on building inclusive culture through whole-school approach to cater for the need of SENs. SEN teachers and SEN TAs are also hired to facilitate the cooperative learning of SENs, and provide group and individual guidance. To this end, the school makes good use of Learning Support Grant and community resource to raise the learning effectiveness of students through diversified support programmes. Examples include Multiple Intelligence Happy Learning Project, Social skills/Emotion Management and Concentration Training Groups, Fun to Read and Write Workshop, Occupational Therapy Team, Speech Enhancement Team. The School also runs a series of summer programmes and Self-care Camp activities to make possible personal growth through happy learning. Regular meetings are held among professionals to devise feasible and concrete support and adjustment plan regarding the learning, homework design and assessments of SENs in need. The School solicits for support from parents through some well-set communication channels through which effective intervention strategies and skills can be sought for the best interests of their child. Two parents Meetings will be held annually for review of learning progress with Team Leaders on top of Parents Talk and Parent-Child Workshops to equip Parents with helping techniques as well as enhance interaction with their child. |

1. Parent representatives are official members of Purchase and Procurement Committee and work for the sole interest of students through harmonious co-operation with the school. <br>2. Parent-Teacher Association is enthusiastic in organizing various activities. Projects include Parent’s Appreciation of Teachers Day, Evening Music Concert and various theme-based talks. |

1. The school was the invited guest speaker of Showcase of Discipline and Counselling Work at School–Teachers Experience Sharing Day 2013 held by Education Bureau, as well as the 2014 Spiritual Education Sharing co-hosted by Hong Kong University of Education and Spiritual Education Centre.<br>2. Commendable behaviours are credited through programmes like Saurus Award and Discipline/Cleanliness Competitions. Around 643 students (97.9%) awarded a dazzling 3393 commendation stamps, among which 335 got gold, 88 silver, 91 bronze and 78 purple in 2022-2023, generating very positive response from parents.<br>3. The school honours simplicity and austerity, and hence students' dress-code, punctuality and assembly etiquette can all live up to expectation. |

Teacher Professional Training and Development |
Teachers' skills of counseling, teaching and IT are enhanced and updated to keep abreast with new situations through various professional development activities. The School is eager to opt for School Support Services to advocate E-learning and STEAM Education as shown in being one of the pilot schools to promote reading through AR/VR application and a handful of teachers being invited to share good practices in various subjects such as STEAM "seed" projects, junior secondary Chinese History support scheme for pilot schools, plus Ethics and Religious Studies school-based teaching material development. Our PE panel received the Outstanding Coach Award held by Hong Kong Coaching Committee. To strengthen exchanges between teachers and students between HKSAR and Mainland China, the School is also actively joining the HK-Guangdong Sisters Project. |
Life-wide Learning |
1. Encouragement of service learning: Students are encouraged to give service. Boy Scouts and Girl Guides, Red Cross, Community Youth Committee, Volunteer Teams and Fung Ling Youth Committee are organizations with this end for establishment.<br>2. Our school was honoured Caring School by Hong Kong Volunteer Award. First Prize in “My favorite School Life” in the secondary school category of Harmonious School Scheme 22/23<br>3. The School CYC repeatedly won Gold prizes in the Theme Event (Wanchai) held by CYC commissioned by EDB. Our students repeatedly won the Best Team Award and Gold Award in Wanchai Themed-activities, as well as chosen as representative of Wanchai District to do overseas sharing.<br>4. School promotes outside school service, a total of 341 students from different forms gave service of 6430 hours in 2022/23.<br>5. The student awarded 7th Ven Siu Kun Scholarship, Gold Award in the Junior Category of Oisca International Hong Kong. Got champion, first runner-up, second runner-up in "Control of Obscene and Indecent Articles Ordinance" color competition, champion and first runner-up in Wanchai District WhatsApp Sticker Design Competition.<br>6. A total of 666 counts of head were conferred awards, certificates and commendation prizes in 80 categories, covering 256 headcounts in 28 academics, 78 in 12 physical education, 131 in 17 aesthetics, 201 in 23 others plus scholarship categories during 2020/21-2022/2023. |
